About Us
Welcome to the official page of the Baker Company Living History Unit, dedicated to preserving the legacy of the brave men and women of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, during World War II. Under the leadership of 1st Lieutenant Grant Brooks and 2nd Lieutenant Cade Fisher, our unit works tirelessly to honor the sacrifices of those who served by providing an authentic and respectful portrayal of their experiences.
What is Living History?
Living history is an immersive way to connect with the past by reenacting and demonstrating historical events, daily life, and military experiences. Our members take on the roles of paratroopers, medics, and other key figures, wearing meticulously researched uniforms, using authentic equipment, and recreating scenarios that reflect the realities of World War II.
Through living history, we educate the public, engage with veterans and their families, and ensure that the stories of courage, sacrifice, and resilience from this pivotal time in history are never forgotten.
Why It Matters
Our mission is to ensure that future generations understand and appreciate the contributions of those who fought for freedom during World War II. By accurately portraying Baker Company, 505th PIR, we:
• Educate: We share the stories of the 82nd Airborne Division
with audiences of all ages through reenactments, presentations, and events.
• Inspire: By embodying the spirit of the “All Americans,”
we remind people of the values of duty, courage, and camaraderie
• Honor: Every action we take is done with the utmost respect
for the men and women who served, ensuring their sacrifices are remembered.
What We Do
Our unit participates in reenactments, historical events, school programs, and veteran commemorations to bring history to life. From airborne jumps to tactical demonstrations, we provide a glimpse into what life was like for the paratroopers of Baker Company.
We strive for accuracy in every detail, from our uniforms and gear to the way we conduct ourselves. Our members dedicate countless hours to research and training, ensuring our portrayal is both educational and respectful.
